The Master of Science in Advanced Studies in Economics (MASE) is an advanced programme for students with an adequate background in economics and a keen interest in recent analytical developments in the field. The programme prepares you for a research career in business, (inter)national institutions and universities, or for pursuing a PhD in economics. MASE offers you a deeper knowledge in specific areas of application, provides you with advanced theoretical and empirical tools to analyse actual economic problems, and familiarises you with current research practices in economics. The MASE curriculum features a selection of advanced courses from different fields within economics. The programme aims to help you find a promising research topic and develop your own research for your masters thesis. For many students, this thesis eventually becomes the first chapter of their doctoral dissertation. Each year, the programme brings together about 15-20 students from all corners of the globe, which results in a very stimulating and international atmosphere.
